003: my most favourite christmas present

_DSC2523 copy

you know when you buy someone a present and you really love it for yourself and the 'perhaps i'll just keep it' thought creeps in well…  oops… i'm just joking! i'm not that mean, but close! after a summer of visiting friends and making memories to dusty records, alex fell for vinyl players. so for his birthday i spent forever trying to find the perfect one which i got off trusty amazon. however, whilst on the search i discovered the dream that is this crosley (for myself!) but, it was sold out on amazon and was a fraction of the urban outfitters price. after seeing this floral dream i fell for the charm of vinyl players and had to have one, and so the christmas list began. i ended up getting a really simple black one, off amazon that was super cheap until the cutie patootie that is the blue crosley gets back in stock.
whilst everything is charming in a vinyl format my favourites to listen to have been jake bugg (the first album), the great gatsby soundtrack and nothing is more enchanting than the completely gorgeous alex turner singing 'you're so dark' on a 7''. i have a long list of records and songs that i'm currently coveting including sidney bechet's si tu vois ma mère (from woody allen's midnight in paris!) and billie holiday's i'll be seeing you (from the notebook, hi ryan).

p.s, happy new year!

002: twenty thirteen

my iphone (almost!) replaced my dslr as it is just so handy to take everywhere and it has really helped document this whirlwind of a year. whilst i've been absent for just over half a year on this little blog of mine i can't think of a better way to round up the year with a post of all my iphone photographs from 2013. however, having just written that i've only just realised i got my iphone in may so there are a few months missing! but i hope you enjoy my almost a year round up as much as i enjoyed reminiscing on everything that has happened. i really love seeing these posts from people and utter my favourite has been lyzi's from being little, but please feel free to leave your own links to your 2013/round up posts.

001: welcome to miaou or never!

_DSC2574 copy1

hello everyone, it’s been so long (in fact it's been seven months) but… ta da! there are still a few of adjustments to be made however, what do you think of the new layout/blog!‘miaou or never’ get it? so, miaou do you do? no, enough of the cat puns lily. it's a little kitty twist on 'carpe diem' i guess but, this isn't me getting all jack and finn rickshaw run on you, unfortunately i'll never be that cool. it's more of a 'lily just say yes/ do more' kind of thing. the lovely grace from urban hype creative has worked so hard on it, and i have to say i'm kinda of in love. it kind of feels weird to be blogging again but, all i can say at the moment is i’m so excited about sharing all of the new things that have happened since june(?!) – which is a lot. undeniably my favourite is alex. yup, if you’ve been on any of my other social media sites you’ll probably know now just how smitten i am (and in true pda style, he'll appear in a few posts). a lot of the advice i got from everyone was “blog for yourself". after all in the beginning when i set up ‘emily’s heart’ which lead to be ‘red brick lipstick’ it was purely a diary for me to keep track of everything so i'm going back to the blog i started in 2010 and sharing the things i do, love and would like. i hope you all had a lovely christmas and i’ll be back tomorrow!

lots of love, lily
